So the virus is still in control of my laptop after my loving, sweet partner worked her ass off to get rid of everything. Yeah.

threnodyjones? If you could be so kind as to send the story back to my work email instead of my home email, that would be awesome. I still don't have email up and running on this guy.

Possibly stupid questions..

Did you disconnect from the net before running the virus check?

Did you stay disconnected from the net and shut down after the virus software did it's job?

Did you restart, still disconnected from the net and run everything again?

Yep, yep, and yep.

It's a Trojan one, but we can't tell where I got it. It's in everything and apparently eating all my connections to everything now. E used to be a programmer and tried all last night to fix it involving things like safe mode and tracking the files as it ran and killing them one by one. The boys' father is trying now as he recently helped someone else with the same one (also a programmer/computer guy).

Sites I went to before having it hit:
Amazon.com, Macys.com, ussoccer.com, hotmail.com, multiple lj sites that I usually go to, alicamb's punk rock advent calendar site.

Sigh. Head hurts now.
