It's an idea. Not sure if the orange/red would clash with the pretty blue though... *g*

Seriously, no idea why he's obsessed with it. It's not the same material as any of his toys have ever been, different size, etc. My only though is if it happened to be in the same bag as the dog treats when we brought it home, but neither of us think it was.
