Okay, so we are bad, evil parents who let our 9 year old try a sip of whatever wine we are having with our meal in our own home. And we have been since before he was 9, if you get my drift. Thing is, he gets maybe a tablespoon or two, comments on the taste, and compares it to either the last one he remembers (which may be from weeks before) or explains how the flavors go with the meal.
Last night we had a nice white Samauer (sp?) with our meal and he commented that, while it went with the tortellini soup, it did not go with the cheeses. He then paused, sighed dramatically, and asked, "Why does the nutritionist at school tell us about cheese and how it has fats and everything, but never teaches us about wine?"
Hee!
