When I saw the prompt, I knew it would be so easy to make Arthur the homophobic one, and even easier for Gwen to be treated like a carpet, and I really did not want that to happen. I also wanted to touch on some of the major issues and show character growth, but not make it an "issues story" per se as far better writers have delved into these topics in the past.
