Too much?

My youngest snuck half of my dark chocolate bar from my office.  Those of you who know me know how serious of an offense this is.  Was it too much to ground him for a week (no Gameboy, video games, tv)?

The thing is, had he asked, I would have shared.  I freely admit possibly not half, but I would have shared (he's 8 and it's really decent chocolate - that much that late at night...).  The sneaking and stealing is really what pisses me off. 

Also, I may post about this later, but watched Atlantis - so happy I was right!

I would think it depends on the age. At least it will make an impression that you don't take things without asking.
