Why Can't We be Friends?

Okay, so the random people adding me to their f-lists without ever posting anything or replying to anything I've done is fine and dandy. Please note that I may not friend you back right away, or at all. If I have never heard of you or your creations, I might not want them popping up on my f-list, especially since I check this at work and some of the posts appear to be half-naked chicks not put behind cuts - not exactly the thing I should be looking at, if you get my drift.

Yes, if you friend me, there is a 99% chance I will click on your name and check out your site. It may take a bit, but I will probably give it a go to see who you are and all that.

No, I probably will not friend you back if your content would get me in trouble at work. If it is put behind cuts, there's a chance I will...

No, I probably will not friend you back if your content is entirely in a language I do not speak or read. If your journal primarily consists of artwork, there's a chance, but if said artwork is pure porn, that chance diminishes greatly.

No, I will not friend you back if your journal is already deleted or your name has the little line through it meaning it's closed. I truly have no idea how you friended me in the first place and am rather confused by the whole thing.

Yes, there is a good chance I will friend you back if our interests overlap.

Yes, there is a good chance I will friend you back if you are someone who has beliefs similar to my own.

Yes, there is a good chance I will friend you back if you are someone I know from outside the LJ world.

Okay, got that out of my system.

Thank you.

Cat.

I guess now would be a good time to leave a post. I've read several of your SGA fanfics and really like your Left Behind series. It's something I want to keep up with and thought that friending your journal would be the easiest way to go about it. If it makes you uncomfortable, I can remove myself from your flist.

Oh no! I didn't mean to imply anything like that! Yours is actually one I completely missed checking out. Lately I've been getting friending by people who post entirely in Russian and solely post pictures of half-naked women and landscapes. The landscapes I don't mind, the half-naked women would be entirely hard to explain at work when looking through my f-list. Today I had someone who friended me from a deleted journal and I got completely and totally confused and decided to post something. Sorry for the confusion!

Very happy you like the Left Behind series! I kind of went on a fic haitus for September due to being ill for over half the month, posting only random thoughts and short little things instead. I hope to get more of that series completed and posted soon.

Thanks for putting up with me!

And here I am ...

I stumbled into your fic from a rec on sgaficfinders but had to stay when I discovered the wonderful snarky person writing all the extra political commentary. You also provide the most interesting links. Promise I will try to comment better if you let me stay, please, please!?!

Huh. I don’t really think of myself as political – opinionated, yes, political… Then again, politics tends to be just a bunch of opinions put together in an authoritative way, so I guess that works. For serious political opinions of the current election and pretty much everything else, you should check out some of [livejournal.com profile] johnnym77’s rants. They be very pretty.

Very happy you liked what you saw enough to stay. Nope, I’m not cutting anyone off (I also, maybe, rather don’t know how to do that even if I ever found someone I wanted to do that to), but I just wanted it stated why I don’t always automatically friend back. Really, the only thing you’re missing is some work bitching stories and a handful of original fic. I tend to ramble and the topics vary as the ADD hits, so, unless you want that clogging up your f-list, you’re not missing much. If you really want it, just let me know.

Hi, this may be sort of random, as I have been reading your Merlin fics slowly over time and have really been enjoying them. I hope you don't mind me friending your journal. Don't feel obligated to friend me back, but I thought I'd just let you know!

Oh, I don't mind at all! I had completely forgotten about this post - it's been over a year now. This was mainly about all the spamming that was going on and such more than anything.

So happy that you are enjoying the fics! My f-locked stuff tends to be more along the lines of bitching about work or other random things, and posting of some original fic mixed in from time to time. I have the tendency to ramble so, er, you've been warned? Maybe? *g*

Ha ha no worries, I've had that my own LJ.

Ha ha that's cool. I tend to ramble a LOT myself, so you're in good company. :D
