Gods Help Us All

In about an hour, our house will be filled with about a dozen, smelly, hormonal, pre-teen boys who will be spending the night for Eldest's birthday party.

I reserve the right to take the candy away at midnight, and to spray them down with Lysol should it be deemed necessary.

Sheesh. I wouldn't give them candy after about 8. Cookies? Yeah, the rush isn't as bad, but the crash always seems to be deeper. :-) Carb comas are great for kids that age. :-)

They are all geeky little chess and soccer kids, and I trust they will squirrel it away where we can't find it. Main bowl goes away early - pockets can be emptied at midnight. We are ordering pizza for dinner and have tons of tortilla chips, Sun Chips, and salsa.

We also just realized that the liquor cabinet has no lock because we've trained the boys not to go in it (still planning on getting a locking one by the time they are in their teens). It is currently tied shut with camping rope.

Sigh. Why am I not looking forward to tonight? *g*

Sounds like you just need to drink all the liquor.

It's for the children, after all. ;-)

You have no idea how tempting that is right now. One little boy has a voice that could cut glass - his parents have to be praying for the day it changes.

They are "watching" a movie, with much commentary, and I was attempting to write. More difficult than you would think, until you realize the current volume (and I'm not talking about the movie).

iPod - earbugs - booze. Seriously. It's for their own safety.
