Because it's been a bit...

Updated word count: 17,314. Yes, I'm just over a day behind. I got stuck and procrastinated and finally just bit the bullet and forced my way through the scene last night. I have tomorrow off of work so, hopefully, I should have time to catch up again.

I'm just under 12K right now. I've been going to be at 8:30 at night becuase I'm so tired, so I only have time to write on weekends. I can get caught up, I know. I just need to buckle down and do it.

I had been putting it off and putting it off and hemming and hawing over how to get to the next part. I finally said screw it and dove in. Not 100% satisfied (maybe 80? 85?) with what I came up with, but at least something is down and I can move on.

If I were writing per my usual style, I wouldn't be half as far as I am now. I would be re-editing, refining, and re-tooling everything over and over before moving on. This helps me plot out my story and then go back and refine once it's all done.

I'm still going back every once in a while to change things. Usually minor, and usually something that leads into whatever next part I'm working on. Kind of like foreshadowing, at least in my mind. No idea if it will come across like that to people reading it.
