Huh, my reply disappeared...

I edited as I went along, at least a bit, so it's not quite as bad as it could be. I'm re-reading it now and noticing a few typos and ways I could better phrase things. E wants me to send it to an editor when I'm done with the preliminary edit, but I'm kind of nervous/afraid/terrified of the prospect.

It's just a first draft. It's going to need a rewrite, most likely. You may just need to shelve it for a few weeks.
