The Good, The Bad, and The Cheesecake

The Good:
The panicked meeting our managers were called into was only to say we're just moving up a couple floors from where we are now. Possibly Monday.

The Bad:
This puts us on the same floor as the execs.

The Good:
E's work is moving to a new, larger location today.

The Bad:
It's currently blizzard-like conditions around her.

The Good:
My mother took both Youngest and Nephew to the zoo today.

The Bad:
After bringing them back into the house, she went to get the garbage can that was teetering near the street and thinks she broke her arm when she fell.

The So-So:
My father is coming to take her to the ER and take care of the two children, ages 3 and 9. He has no patience on a good day.

The Cheesecake:
I knew there was a reason to like one of our attorneys here at work - five cheesecakes were just delivered, including a Godiva Chocolate one, that my old manager point blank told me to take the largest piece of.

Going to sit here and munch on some truly excellent cheesecake and finish the last of my 81 accounts and try not to worry about mom or the boys.

Edit: Dislocated elbow and a broken radius or possibly radial (where it connects). She was pretty high on pain meds while telling me this. Six hours in the ER with nothing more than ibuprofen before they saw her. Then they dosed her with morphine and sent her home with percosed.

... Well, that would technically fulfill the 'mocha part' of your earlier criteria...

It truly does. Though, I must admit, the thought of my father with a 9 year old with blood sugar issues that make him... cranky... (the child, not the father) had me raising my eyebrows. I called to remind him K should be due for a snack and he very calmly told me he just gave him a hamburger. I'm scared.

Well, he could be giving him alcohol to calm him down.

Though really, I'm not sure who defines 'he' and 'him' in that sentence...

Apparently, he kept feeding him somewhat healthy, non-sugary things, like ham and cheese sandwiches, all afternoon. Kept his blood sugar up without the sugar high, though it did cut into his dinner appetite.

He and Him - Yes.

Also, as a side note, my father called at 7:50 pm to say mom was just getting into x-ray. She got to the ER at 2:30 pm. When he got to her after I picked up K, she was in tears because every time they were about to call her number, another ambulance came in. Six hours, possibly broken arm, no pain meds. Shit. Ouch.
