Are you talking about the one in D where you can look across to W?

+1u: Built a model of the Temple of Ephesus for Latin class out of Legos.

+1u: They are currently proposing not to restore, but to build a new temple in its place and having lotteries for the right to create statues for both inside and outside the temple.

Also - hee! about the Legos.

What. The. Fuck.

Erm, color me suspicious, but I'm not too sure Artemis would be entirely cool with Hermes turfing her out, even in a minor way. Doesn't Greece already have enough problems at this point?

Oh wait! Cause we're such good builders these days!

I thought they had laws against this very thing - remember them trying to build a subway tunnel in Athens and taking forever because every time they stuck the shovel in the dirt more archaeologists had to be called?

*ahem* No opinions here, nope.

Hee!

Actually, this is technically Turkey, not Greece. It's also one of the centers of Goddess worship since pretty much pre-Babylonian times, but... They say it's supposed to still be Artemis and Goddess based. I'm torn - on the one hand, why built something new on such a historic place; on the other, that's what's happened seven times now.

Also, you should have been in Rome when we were there. They kept trying to dig Met-Ro tunnel D and running into new sites. At once point, they had a blockade up where they were digging and you could peek through and see yet another new temple. It amused. Greece solved some of their problems by showing what they dug into via glass walls and museum quality displays in their subway system.

*facepalm* Oh my god, you're totally right. I completely forgot that it was in Anatolia.

Hee! Romans actually know how to do museums. Probably because they've got so much crap that they can just leave it all there and still have more to spread around the world's illegal antiquities markets.
