Um, the 35W river bridge just collapsed here in Minneapolis.  I drove over it about 5 minutes before it did, in case any one cares/knows about the collapse.  We live less than 5 minutes away from the bridge and it's all sirens here right now.  No idea how I'm going to get to work tomorrow.

Oh my lord. I mean, I'm stuck in IA on I-35 currently, but I didn't realize you were that close!

We live only a few blocks off 35 and 2 exits down on 35 from the bridge. It's pretty bad right now and will most likely be for quite some time.

I read your comment on TJ's site - 5 minutes! You're so lucky. My brother was on the bridge a couple of hours before, that's the closest to danger my family was.

My grandmother told me to remember someone or something was looking out for me and to please remember to give it respect and thanks. She then offered my mother a drink to try to calm her down (my aunt just offered her the bottle).

280 was not bad this morning, but a lot of people took the day off. The ride home was pretty long as so many people are being re-routed downtown. I fear the next few days/weeks.

Glad to hear your brother (and hopefully your whole family) is doing okay.
