Day Trip

We went down to Frontenac (just outside of Red Wing) yesterday and played around in the state park for a bit. [Honey, why do them Pagans keep going to state parks around when I hear about these things called Bell-tane and Sow-when?]

Trees and debris by the lake at the bottom of a hill/mini-bluff thing.


Same view at the top of the hill/mini-bluff thing. Yes, we climbed it. Yes, my legs protest now (as does the hand that got the sliver).



We also stopped by the antique mall in Red Wing (hard to find the little shops anymore). A wrap identical to my grandmother's caught my eye. Next to it was a brooch with a stone the color of my birthstone surrounded by a pattern of four stags and four acorns. Needless to say, yes, I picked that up along with a small carving for E. Youngest was happy with a bag of jelly beans. *g*

Today was supposed to be a garden/errand day, but considering we're just starting to get up at 11:00, we'll have to see what happens.

Nice pics. I love bodies of water and the US have really nice parks. Our state parks are kinda out of the way. It's only recently that they're making 'green lungs' in newly developed areas.

Anyway, hi! I'm catching up on my flist, I might be spamming you in a while. *g*

We're lucky that we have so many within relatively close driving distance. Each one has a bit different feel, though I'm sure they look the same to most people. They're huge and unguarded and you get to kind of commune with nature for a bit.
