Virus Update

May possibly have the virus thing under control. Couldn't download what was needed to fix it to the infected computer because it shut down every web window every 15 minutes and it took 17 minutes to download. Fun times. Downloaded it to another computer, dropped it to a USB drive, and ran it that way.

It found not one, but three infections plus a spyware plus 131 cookie warnings. Supposedly, it cleared them all off.

Edit: It just popped up again. Shit.

Super Secret Message

So the virus is still in control of my laptop after my loving, sweet partner worked her ass off to get rid of everything. Yeah.

threnodyjones? If you could be so kind as to send the story back to my work email instead of my home email, that would be awesome. I still don't have email up and running on this guy.

Virus Update

It looks like we got the virus cleared off... for now. Two issues remain:

1) I have no email
My email password was deleted and none of my standard ones are working. The boys' father is the one who set things up, so he is going to try to reset it. The problem is, the last time he needed to intervene was 5 years ago, so it might take some doing.

2) All my settings are off
LJ looks... odd. My Windows' settings look... odd. I cannot reset either of these right now, for some unknown reason.

If anyone is trying to get a hold of me, it might be several days before email is up and running as normal again. You can try posting a response here or, if you know it, try my work email. I'm not posting it here because the only people who should need it already have it and it also lists my full name and where I work - something I'm not always so eager to share. :)

Let's see if this posts - I seem to have lost the preview option as well...
