I'm sure everyone has seen this all over their f-lists by now and, yes, I am throwing my hat into the ring as well.

I am offering a minimum 1,000 word story in the Merlin, Leverage, or Sherlock fandom. Words may go up if the prompt leads to it, and the words will go up if the bid is high enough.

The link to my bidding thread is HERE.

Why am I doing this?
The BBC online news service has some in depth coverage of the floods and their tolls. Some may make you cry. One article in particular struck and hit me hard. On top of all the stress and horrors of losing everything you own and watching your life wash away, women and young girls are suffering from a combination of unhygienic practices and massive culture shock. They cannot bathe properly as there is no safe and segregated place to do so, and they are forced into situations and housing with non-relatives in ways they have never had to deal with before.

Yes, some people would say to break the cultural norms in this instance and just deal with it. But when everything else has been taken away, you have your faith and your upbringing left, and not a whole lot else - what are you going to fall back on?

Anyway, this is my long and rambly way of asking people to check out the [livejournal.com profile] help_pakistan site and to consider donating either time or money. Aside from fic and art up for auction, there are knit goods and recipes and more. You might find something that interests you or you might find something you yourself can offer.

Just think about it, that's all I ask.
