Maybe it runs in the family?

Be afraid: Youngest looked up and found fan fic for the book series he is currently reading.

He is ten. He did this on his own and then told us. We then explained the rating system and that no, "X" does not mean "no rating" and that he's to avoid those as well. *headdesk*

I think daughter was 12 when she started looking for Harry potter fan fic. She found Marauders gen and used to happily tell us about it at the dinner table. It was when she was 14 that I realised, following a discussion on the way back from the orthodontist, that she read Harry/Draco slash as we found we were enjoying the same stories. :-) As an ancient 19 year old she's outgrown it all now.

All I can say is that at 10 even if he found x rated material he'd probably be bored stiff by it!
