Chatty Catty

I’m at work, I’m bored, and I have like zero patience. That means I am going to regal you all with randomness. It will be like Twitter, but without the tweeting. I’ll even put it behind a cut ‘cuz I’m nice like that.

- It’s snowing! I have pics from yesterday with the pretty fall colors. The only color today is white. Will try to snap a pic or two for Frigg.

- It’s snowing on a Monday morning! This means drivers are especially stupid on the commute to work.

- Speaking of work, VP-type guy is apparently here for the week. We’ve been told to work diligently, or at least look like we are.

- Typhoid Julie is shaking at her desk. Me thinks she OD’d on caffeine again.

- Typhoid Julie is also shouting out helpful things like the fact we can’t do certain things due to the bank holiday. You know, the one they warned us about and never changes?

- I could not log into my system this morning. My boss assures me this does not mean I am fired.

- Editing fic between accounts. Arthur is kind of a prat. Then again, he’s also kind of blind, so there’s that.

- We have random people roaming in hoards around the building. It’s probably not polite to moo at them, right?

- Shut up, Julie.

- There's this amazing thing, it's called email. Try that instead of shouting over your cube. Alternatively, you can get up from your chair and walk down the three cubes to talk.

- To our dear Admin/Collections department: it is not helpful to replace addresses with attorney names. You can't just call out a name and expect the mail to go there, despite what Harry Potter may have taught you.

- Do all execs belong to the Self-Congratulatory Association of America?

- Dear Lean Cuisine, please change back to your old recipes. The toasting trays? Not toasting this new stuff.

- Usually, we like to ask if someone is at lunch before demanding answers for an account that is not even their own. Hint: The actual lunch still being out and eaten in front of you is a sign.

- It is also not fair to have to quickly close down Merlin fic only to realize it's your coworker and not your boss and you still have a few minutes left to finish up. :)

- Laughing at coworkers having discussion about being disappointed in yesterday's golf scores and wondering if the incoming snow played a role. Yes, they are serious.

I really don't want to have to shovel today. It's too early to have to shovel. *grumbles*

We have kids aged 10 and almost 12. We've trained them to both shovel and to offer to shovel for our neighbors (especially when she was pregnant and he was out of country). This light, they can do it without our help. Come January, the whole family's out there.

Oooh, now there's an idea. We usually only put ours to work when it's a ton out there. I like the way you think

Of course the repairs we're doing on our garage aren't finished and we can't park in it yet. We'd stupidly assumed we were safe as long as the repairs were finished by halloween. *sighs*

You're old enough to remember The Great Halloween Blizzard [insert dramatic music here], aren't you? It's MN, it will snow when it wants to. *g* Looks like the sun's coming out for a bit though, at least around here.

That was my first winter in MN, I remember it well.MN doesn't *have* to keep trying to prove to us it does its own thing, though!

Had a wedding to go to the next day for our neighbors. Ended up taking their daughter so they could focus on everything else, including the fact the bride's dress was at her mother's house at the bottom of a hill in an unplowed cul-de-sac and her mother had a broken arm. Fun times. *g*

Oh DEAR... MN does like to makes things interesting!

Nah, everything worked out fine - it usually does. Just had to figure out how to get a baby/toddler seat into my old Chevy Cavalier to get the little one there. The wedding was beautiful, the pics turned out great, and they had a story to tell for the rest of their lives.
