In which Camp Swear-a-Lot earns its name

I was having a good morning. Got up, got ready, had time to make a proper breakfast before heading off to work and our monthly meeting and the usual crap-ton of follow-ups that awaited me.

And then I got to my car.

Some motherfucker broke into our car and stole the fucking stereo. There is glass everywhere. There is a stereo nowhere. They did not steal the other CDs in there but that is probably because they could not find them. I now owe E a new Lady Gaga CD because I had taken it and was listening to it last night. I cannot get to work and did I mention it is supposed to rain all afternoon? And that we can't use our garage due to it being over 100 years old, decrepit, and having both the original hooks for horses and a giant pillar in the center preventing cars from parking in it?

They stole my fucking stereo. Again. A few years ago they stole it out of my old car as well. Just like a few years ago, I didn't hear a thing.

Called the national insurance place and they gave me attitude that I was not on the policy and I didn't have the right address. Got a call from the local place that told me that they just needed to check the second screen and they could get over their big bad selves. Like the local place better, to say the least. She set up someone to come and take a look and someone to try to replace the window, if possible, as soon as possible, especially due to the rain.

I'm a little more than a little pissed.

Missed a day of work last week due to illness, and miss a day this week due to others' stupidity and greed. Both day had meetings. Oh yeah, I'm looking good to the company right about now.

Fuck.

Edit: 11:45 and the glass company is already here (though I have not seen the insurance agent yet). Have to appreciate a man that looks like my uncle shaking his head and saying, "I hope those fuckers got cut."

Edit 2: Two pics

Well, crap. Got duct tape and a trash bag?

I hope the insurance company comes through *fast*.

It's cold but sunny right now, rain isn't due until this afternoon. Hopefully the insurance company will be here by then.

So very pissed.

You are so rightfully pissed. These people deserve smiting. Too bad that's against the law.

Glad to hear the window's been replaced. Now let's hope the insurance comes through for you.

Feel better soon!

Renee

There's karma, and the belief that whatever you do will come back to you, so I'm holding on to that right now.

I wondered what happened to you today. I was hoping you were just sick and not a victim of robbery.

That f-ing sucks. I do hope they cut...and infected.

As for the Company, I'm sure they will understand. You'll still come in and get caught up and do your work. There are plenty of people who are here every day and don't do nearly as much.

Nope, robbery it was. Pissed I am. I kinda stood there and stared for a moment, trying to figure out what I was seeing because it couldn't be *my* car.

Re: Company - two time in two weeks - excellent impression to give Boss Lady who now sits next to me.

Editing to include two pics. At least they got the window in before the storm rolled in.

I don't think she thinks any less of you. Boss Lady can be pretty understanding.

Hope so. Still upset. Violently so.

Thank you, sweetie. Insurance person still has not stopped out, nor called to set up an appointment. I called the main office last night and was told he technically has 24 hours. Then I found it was the same guy from a while back who was less than customer-friendly, but did his job. That time, he didn't actually need to get into the car, so he simply stopped by and didn't call. This time, he'll need the keys to see the damage.

At least the window is replaced, and they were kind enough to vacume up the glass. Now I get to go into work and see the aftermath there.
