Fun With Fridays

I'm stuck at work right now, after not working Fridays for over a month, and only working half-days for about a month before that (I needed to use up my time off or lose it). This is going to take some getting used to.

Also taking some getting used to: my new desk. We reorganized yesterday, shifting desks and managers and such. The desk itself is fine, it's the people around me that are going to take some getting used to.
1) The Singer - she sings constantly. At her desk, walking the halls, going to the bathroom, she sings. And now, she sits on the other side of my cube wall.
2) Pier One Guy - his desk is decorated like an ad for Pier One. His attitude is stank at best - that false "isn't everything lovely, no I'm not actually listening to anyone" crap. Also, he apparently eats really greasy, really pungent food at his desk every morning.
3) Perfume Girl - have it narrowed down to two people, still not sure who the actual culprit is. My eyes water walking by. On the other hand, she didn't spray any until Pier One Guy got his breakfast, so maybe it was just retaliation.
4) Consumption Girl - has been sick for about a month, possibly more. Her hacking almost covers up the singing. Almost.

Sigh. Yes, I'm bitching. I'm also exhausted. The cats broke into their food last night, had a feast, and were running around at 3 in the morning. I know, I know, who needs sleep when you've got the spirit of song to see you through?

Where's my iPod?

Oh, Lordy, that reminds me of my last job. Cube in front of me: The Singer. Cube next to her: The Life-Long Smoker, Working on Donating Up a Lung ANY Second Now. Office behind me: The Queen of All That is Horrific on iTunes. Office next to her: The 24/7 Personal Call Telephone Conversationalist, Who Buys Fish & Chips for Lunch and Eats It At Her Desk with Malt Vinegar.

*head desk* The only saving grace was that my best friend had the cube right next to me, and we could share commiserating looks across the aisle (and talk about Stargate when we escaped to lunch).

Whoo hoo! Not just me!

The nice thing is the person next to me is both kind and sarcastic, and most of the people I'm used to working with are either at the end of the row or one row over, so it's not too bad. That, and Perfume Girl has not sprayed again, so maybe she was just getting back at Pier One Guy.

I so sorry. It could always be worse...Scott could still be there.

Oh, don't even give me flashbacks to the man who stuck his hand down his pants to scratch his ass in front of me - damn near daily.

Don't Knock It

Hey! I often think of sending that man some sort of thank you note/gift on our anniversary. His actions have kept you queer (and with me :) ) all these years.
Heh.

Well, you did ask me to ask him to get me one of his "I love my wife" bumper stickers...
