Move In Day

Ah, move in day for those living just off campus... When else can you see people trying to parallel park their car and trailer in a miraculous 4-5 car-length open spot, yet somehow still ride up and over the flowers of your front garden?

That's okay, the baby next store has to be loving the pounding and slamming doors almost as much as the helicopters (still buzzing by) that kept him from sleeping for more than 15 minutes at a time for the past three days... I feel for his parents at this point. You know, the ones who's car was nearly hit when the trailer tried to get out of our garden...

At least you'll have the all night binge drinking parties and loud noise to look forward too once the moving in chaos is over.

Oh, no, that started the same night [well, the noise starts every night with the band next door practicing]. Wait 'til they find out our neighborhood has separate rules and curfews that were voted in long, long ago. Ah, the look on their faces after that first citation...

LOL - To be a fly on a nearby lamp post. You must get a high turn-over rate for college kids in that neighborhood.

It's weird, but we really don't. I think it's because they sign year-long contracts. Usually after the first month or so they calm down to a dull roar.
