Character Meme

I propose a new meme. In honor of the fantastically horrible character bios offered for the upcoming Stargate: Universe, write two bios of your own.

The first is what you actually look for in a leading character, the characteristics and traits that make them intriguing and believable and draw you into a show or series.

The second is a parody of what you think is the worst of the worst possibilities out there, every trope and overused cliché that you find annoying and turns you off of both the character and possibly the show or series.

What I Look For:
They should have a believable background of command experience appropriate for what they are doing. They should be smart, but not take things too seriously, and be willing to do whatever is needed for their team and for their mission. They also must know when to defer to others with more knowledge or experience in certain circumstances, and take all the facts into account when making their decisions.

Worst of the Worst:
Mysterious skills that appear as needed, whether or not they should logically know anything about them based on their given background (ex: an astrophysicist performing open heart surgery). Even if they screw up horribly, nothing is ever their fault (ex: accidentally killing thousands, but having no fallout from it). They also just happen to be unbelievably gorgeous with absolutely no scars or faults of any kind, no matter how often they are injured in canon. They are automatically right and know best even if they have no experience and what they want to do goes against logic, reasoning, protocol, or orders, and everything always turns out in their favor so they make the others look horrible for ever questioning them.

What I Look For: *snip*

Ah... Jack in the early years... I miss those years.

Yep. Far before the Cosmic Giddiness (tm) ever found a foothold in his brain.
