One does not "hang" the Queen

Happened across my first "real" Gwen-bashing fic. Why? No, seriously, why? It's bad enough when authors push her to the background or make her incredibly out of character just to fit the needs of their fic and OTP, but bash her on top of that as well?

She's a main character and a rather awesome one at that. Where's the OT4 love? There's no need to make her wallpaper, or worse.

Need to make an icon or image or something that has a sort of wallpaper effect with her coming out of it. Ooh, I think I have an idea how to, if only I was not at work.

Not bloody much! The US is apalingly racist. They also wouldnt know history if the HIST channel listed in their cable preview showed them the true meaning of the word "Moor" with Roger Dudley as it's host.

I have known some hung queens in my day...oh, wait, that's not quite what you said. Sorry.

LOL

(sorry, cat. hee.) pray tell what fic was it so i can avoid it like the plague? i haven't read many fics that outright bashed gwen, a few are quilty of ignoring her completely (which i'm fine with because i would rather have that than outright hate).

and i'm kind of lucky too since my flist is relatuvely sane and mature, because there're some ep reviews out there which calls gwen all sorts of bad names... what the effing eff? i heard there's freya bashing too... *headdesk* *clings to flist*

I went looking for something to read at lunch and cannot remember what exact path I took to come across it, nor do I want to. *g*

Honestly, I can't remember if it was linked to via merlinxarthur or by following something on the finder's community (which can either end up with awesomeness, or wtf-ness). It was just... completely unnecessary to the rest of the story even. It made no sense and was unusually harsh.

Usually I stick to recs or scan through the comms and either stick to names I know or try people who have a coherent summary. Other than that, I need recs.

Haha, ok. It's always a gamble reading fic in this fandom since, I dunno, a third of the writers are really, really young. Not to say all of them are bad (in fact I've found a few gens written by them younger folks)... but it kinda affects one's mood when one encounters horrible writing with the addes bonus of grammr and spelling fail. :/

Coherent summaries, ahaha. The other day I saw a fic with a spelling error right on the subject line itself... aaiiieee.

(btw, did I tell you I have a delicious account with the same username? In case you need those recs *g* And fyi my flist are made up of writers I like. So that's a kind of rec right there, and why you won't find your fics, and certain other people's fics on my delicious *wink*)

I happened across one of those tonight - the title of the fic was incorrect usage/spelling, and not meant as a joke or play one words. *sigh*

Oh how I wish I could access delicious at work - every time I try it crashes my internet window (I think it's because we use a crappy old version of IE there). Between your links, [livejournal.com profile] briar_pipe's, and the various lists from the comms, I'd be set. I've been promised an upgraded PC by the end of the year due to other issues (like my system not playing well with Adobe and us needing it for nearly everything we do), so maybe it will work then? Hope so - my ADD self needs something to do between accounts at lunch. *g*
