There Can Be Only Camp...

So, apparently there's this Highlander marathon going on tonight on Sci-Fi. I turned it on during the episode with the killer mime. How awesome is that? Seriously - killer mimes. Every show should have them.

From there, it moved on to former rock stars losing their hands and now it's the one with the guy who was supposed to be a reoccurring character, but the actor got drunk and went nuts with a sword on set. Later, it's Amanda, and that's all you need to say about this awesomeness.

Gods, the fight scenes were awful first season. And the little inspector guy, running around trying to figure out why Duncan always happened to be involved with the decapitation cases - so happy they dropped that storyline. And poor, sweet Darius, whose actor's death created the Watchers. And Tessa, who I always hated. Never thought she could act. It's sad when an extra dying in Mac's arms has more chemistry than she did with her supposed boyfriend.

Sigh. I think I need a Highlander fix. Anyone got any recs? [livejournal.com profile] threnodyjones?

Edit: the 'singing' and the 'dancing' are sending me into fits of giggles. And the sharpened 'prop' knife... And the pretending to play/listen to music...

I'd forgotten how cracktastically bad the first episode was in most parts. And HL's reuse of footage from earlier episodes. (The people watching will never notice!) And the airbrushing out of people formerly in previous episodes. (If they don't notice the reuse, they'll never notice this!)

I ♥ my show. :)

I'm subscribed to this. Usually some great stories. And some total classics.

Oh, come on! The first ep was classic, for the plastic ponytail alone! My mother watched the first ep unedited with me after seeing most of the series. When Duncan's busy screwing Tessa and pauses saying "He feels something" and she responds "You better..." my mother's response was, "It ain't you, honey. He's got two Immie's and a Pre-Immie outside his door!"

Noticed the reuse of the breaking windows from the movie for a warehouse Quickening. Odd considering the outside shot of the warehouse showed no windows... Also noticed a lot of places we visited in Paris though (Xavier was eating at the same cafe we took the boys to for lunch).

Do believe I shall friend that comm and get my HL fix for a while - thanks kindly!

I caught a bit of the marathon. I *loved* HL. Glad Tessa bit the big one. She annoyed me greatly.

There was just something about her that bugged. Never bought it, I guess. Anne wasn't much better, but at least the actress wasn't quite as wooden.

*sigh* Miss HL. Makes me almost want to finish that fic again...

They had such chemistry, and fun, together. If you ever doubt the slash between those two, just watch the double Quickening (and the actors' reactions to it in interviews).

LOL! Shoot, remember the episode where they're painting that house that Duncan was redoing? Remember the paintbrush to Methos' nose? *SUCH* a slashy moment.

They were *cute* together. Methos even had a key to the apartment, and the barge, and the dojo... Duncan tried so hard to stay mad at him after the Horsemen incident, but really it came across more as, "You fucker. I had to meet your exes and they were mean. We need major make-up sex *now*."
