Damn I love Orphan Black. So many political and social issues interwoven into an actual fast-moving plot with awesome characterization.

I need an icon for this, I know. But who would I choose as favorite? Let's be honest, it would be Helena.

So when is someone going to make an Agents of SHIELD video to the Bat for Lashes song "Tahiti"?

Agents of SHIELD - vague spoilers are vague )

In unrelated news, We Love Fine has some new shirts and I kinda sorta really want this one but I also kinda sorta really want this one. There's also some SHIELD-related ones, and a ton of Hawkeye ones as approved/chosen by Fraction & Aja, so there's that.

Okay, semi-live blogging the episode, so possible spoilers. Had to list things that made me laugh aloud and/or that I just plain liked:

Cut because I care... )

Still want Clint or Natasha to guest, raise their eyebrows, and solve it all in like 3 seconds.

You know they would.

So I was home sick yesterday and we actually got the cable to work and we actually found where the animated series of Avengers Assemble was hidden in the On Demand options [hint: not by name, but by Kids -> Disney XD -> Avengers Assemble, though it also comes up if you search by "Marvel" but you have to do this for each episode you want to watch].

No, not all the eps were there. Yes, some had painful, cheesy, "this is the lesson of the episode" moments. Yes, I laughed my ass off at most of them anyway.

The voice for Tony threw me (as [personal profile] wolfie74 said, he sounds like a 16 year old and, sorry Adrian Pasdar, you kinda do for this one), but eventually you get used to it. Besides, there is enough snark and background interactions to distract from that: trained heroes fighting over cookies, Clint, Tony versus Cap versus tech, Clint, Tony simply pulling out his wallet every time Thor breaks something, did I mention Clint?

So, yeah, overall it was pretty damn entertaining. And I don't think it was just the fever since [personal profile] wolfie74 was laughing too.

FRINGE!

Awesome, love the guest star (see what I'm doing here, being all spoiler-free?), and, once again, they are either foreshadowing or fucking with us - so, you know, the usual. *g*

Two favorite quotes that could honestly be from any episode (and have been said before and likely will again):

"What are you doing, Walter?" said in a singsong voice.

and

"Walter, are you high?"

Hee!

No real spoilers.

It was angsty and had an actual plot and obvious parallels to Olivia's story. Plus, you know, Broyles being snarky and that is always a good thing. *g*

Just had to again say how much I like the writing on this show - the characters' personalities are so quirky, but so consistently quirky that it makes the whole thing work. Astrid is so awesome with Walter, who is awesome with Peter and Olivia in his own ways. Broyles knows them all well enough to not necessarily not be surprised by what they come up with, but to just kind of roll with it when it happens. And Olivia... Anna Torv is just quite awesome playing all the little nuances wrapped around her.

Also, someone needs to make Broyles' quote about emergencies into an icon. Just saying.

Loving Fringe this season - cool characterizations and intricate storylines and everything you could love about it. The actors look like they are having fun with it as well, which is always a good sign.

Bones? Not so much. It's like everyone forgot how to act over the hiatus, but that's okay because the scripts aren't really that complex anyway. Seriously, wincing watching it with the kids. Maybe it's just my huge embarrassment squick, but 'tis painful.

Need to find Olivia pics from this season and make another icon - have an idea but have to, you know, actually do it. :)

PS - I know I am behind in commenting - I hope to catch up either tomorrow or this weekend. Sorry!

First, the non spoilery reaction:

FRINGE!

Now, the spoilery reaction:
Fringe Theory )

So, that would be my attempt at coherency after both the episode and far too many people talking at once. :) Thoughts?

We watched BBC's new Sherlock last night. Yes, the new ep airs tonight. Yes, we are already behind (just not as far as we have been on other shows previously).

Overall, I have to say I liked it. There were so many quirky little things going on in the background and with each character that it was hard not to smile and laugh at. I swear I have seen the guy who played the medical examiner somewhere before, but have no idea where. Unfortunately, by the time I figured out where I have seen the actor who plays Watson before and was all excited to tell [personal profile] wolfie74, it was right when there was a big reveal for something else at the end. She, er, did not share my enthusiasm at the time. *wince*

I would love to make an icon or two (one specific one that she requested), but have yet to find any good pics or screen caps to use. Anyone know of any?

Also, I have seen a few comms for Sherlock series from past and present, but none specifically for this one. I know myself well enough to know I will get thrown if I am expecting imagery from this one and get the movie verse or previous versions instead, just as I would be thrown looking for the movie verse and suddenly they have all the modern shinies. Anyone know of any comms? Or at least comms that are really good at labeling?

So, yeah, this goes into the column of Would Watch Again, currently occupied by Leverage, Merlin, Rizzoli & Isles, and a rapidly fading SG world. :)

So [personal profile] wolfie74 and I finally watched the recorded episode of Rizzoli and Isles from Monday night. It’s a new TV series based off of a series of novels. This definitely goes into the recommended category. *g*

Rizzoli is a homicide detective with an overbearing mother, a protective-yet-hero-worshipping brother, and a cell phone programmed to different tunes to represent each person in her life.

Isles is the medical examiner/coroner who believes you should look good while doing everything and wears designer clothing to a crime scene. And to clean. And to sleep in. She’s also insanely smart. Her ringtone is the Funeral Dirge.

Rizzoli is the butch to Isles' femme and, though they both flirt with the same guy, there’s plenty of subtext to go around. [personal profile] wolfie74 likened it to the Xena days of old with Xena and Gab’s relationship. She feels that, by today’s standards, it would be the female equivalent of a bromance, or something she would like to call a “bramance”.

Anyway, it’s on TNT at like 11 pm on Mondays, and then re-aired 1001 times as per usual TNT policy. I think I might just like it better than In Plain Sight, though not sure if it’s Leverage or Merlin levels yet. *g* Check it out.

Just watched the first three eps of Leverage and think I am in love. I had only caught bits and pieces previously. Love the humor and the attitude and all the little details. I know there are people on my f-list hooked on it as well, and I can definitely see why. Have many more episodes to go through and am rather looking forward to it.

Anyone willing to share some links? Fics or comms to read fics? Icon-like things even?

I think I'm a little in love with Parker, and I don't usually go for blondes. *g* "She's twenty pounds of crazy in a five pound bag."

Edit: To change icon because I'm obsessive like that.

Hey, it's that guy! *g*

So we were catching up on past episodes of the new Doctor Who. Was playing H.I.T.G. a lot, but none so much as when Sir William of Dairy showed up in Venice! Hee!

There's others I recognized as well, but was not sure where they were from off the top of my head. Yes, I obsess enough I'll probably look them up. Will also likely do a separate post regarding [personal profile] wolfie74's and my various theories on what might be going on (hint: ties to Romana, amongst others).

Again, hee!

B) [personal profile] wolfie74 and I were quoting lines... before they were said. *g*

Watched In Plain Sight this week, which managed to have not one but two awesome quotes:
- “What are you, verbally impotent?” “I’m sorry, it’s never happened before.”
- “It’s like salmon – they swim upstream, fight the tide, and end up on a bagel.”

Watched Bones last night. Spoiler for Cause of Death )

Watched Fringe last night as well. Okay ep, it was about time, want to know who the person at the end was. However, the preview for next week looks awesome. Spoiler for Upcoming Ep(s) )

Now I must totally concentrate on my work and in no way try to pull up Word and write fanfic. It helps that boss’s boss’s boss is moving in to the cube next to me effective next week and they are currently rebuilding it for her. It’s like a neat little noose hanging over my head. Or, possibly, just to be contrary, I want to goof off that much more while I can...

I was going to post this earlier (like after the show), but got distracted.

Anyway, show of hands: How many people are waiting for Anna (Morena Baccarin) to eat a mouse? Better yet, how many people are waiting for the tiny little blonde chick (Lisa?) to get knocked up with twins?

Okay then, got that out of my system. *g*

[These are only spoilers if you never saw the original. Also, hell if I know what they plan to do with this "re-imagining" thing.]

Watched V with the boys and kept giggling maniacally throughout it. Yes, there is cheese, and lots of it, but the original had even more. Besides, it's fun to play Sci-Fi Actor Bingo. *g*

[BTW, so called it on Alan Tudyk's character...]

Edit: Because I have to add a quote from Eldest:
"Wow, it's like a UFO or something!"

Slightly Spoilery Quote )
