Slow and Snow!

First, apologies to those trying to access my fic site and/or anything else on the public server. I know the server was getting full and bogged down a few months ago, but D was supposedly updating it then. Doesn't look like that happened and now even accessing it via the non-public route is screwy and beyond slow.

On the up side, I haven't updated my fic archive since like April, so you're not missing anything? o_O

On the down side, I really can't update anything any time soon due to the whole "there's no room and it's too slow to access" aspect.

In far more happier and uplifting news, the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] briar_pipe gifted me with a virtual snowflake! Thank you, sweetie! I know you're not a snow person beyond the hot cocoa aspect, but here's a pic so you can enjoy it from the warmth of your own blanket-filled home:

Is that where you live? Where I am, we are swimming! Yep, it's a warm 36 degrees! It amazes me to think of people shivering when I am hot and bothered. All my kids (grown up and qualified) are off o'seas soon. One to London and one to America. I wonder what my blue eyed Aussies will make of the snow and slush?

This is a bit north of where I live. I live in Minneapolis, and this is just north of Duluth. There's a place that rents cabins up there that we like to stay at, and this was taken last winter there.

MN has so little snow right now, it's not even funny. Yeah, I know, saying this means we're in for a blizzard, but I'm tired of looking like Iowa with all browns and dead grass and barren trees (at least that's what it looked like when we drove through it a few winters ago). We're supposedly getting some this week, but no telling how much. If it's pretty, I'll try to post some pics.
