Merlin - Family Manip
Mainly just so I have an archive post of this (because I am obsessive that way), but during the
camelot_fleet party this weekend,
lunatique gave the prompt of "Hunith/Balinor+bb!Merlin - family" and I decided to play around with GIMP.
Ealdor Family

Pleased to be ignoring the totally anachronistic blanket and the fact Merlin looks sunburned, kthnxbai.

Thought so. ;)
They make a handsome couple, red-baby and all. :D

Used to volunteer at a children's hospital and was taught it again by the nurses there - it's apparently comforting and supports the head or some such thing.
(Didn't say it was the best manip, but hey, it gave me something to do for a few minutes, so it's all good. *g* 'Sides, now we can think of how poor Balinor was trying to hard to be the good father and show baby Merlin the little nest of baby dragons... and then it all went horribly wrong. Good thing a) he's a Dragonlord, and b) Hunith loves him.)

Hey, at least you can do manips! My GIMP-fu is comatose. I tried to make a simple MxA wallpaper and I'm just not happy with the results. :/
Now I want to read an AU where Balinor teaches Merlin to train dragons. LOL.
Also forgive the verbal diarrrhea since the doctor prescribed me a muscle relaxant cause my neck was as stiff as a board along with the attending migraine. Aaaaiiihhh, 16 hours after I took the meds, I still feel light headed and nauseous. Why did I go to work again? Heh.
Anyway. ^.^

There are some moms here who take the full allotted time off after giving birth, but others go right back after a week or so. I think it's a mix of culture, comfort, and finances more than anything.
GIMP is all about trial and error. Some stuff is going to suck major big ones, and others will not suck quite so much. It's not Photoshop level, but it's fun (and frustrating) to play around with.
Totally understand the meds thing - scared people at work last week when I cam in after taking my migraine meds late the night before. You sort of ride the high for a while, then go back later and say, "Er, what did I do?" *g*
