SGA: Outside the Book

I think I’m in a mood or something.  Wrote a new tidbit.  Do not know if it’s stand alone or part of something bigger.  For now, it’s stand alone.  Again with the teamwork/vengeance themes…

Title:  Outside the Book

Genre:  SGA, Gen, Snippet/Triple Drabble (300 words)

Rating:  PG-13 for now

Synopsis:  Rules don’t always apply.

Disclaimer:  I don’t own them, people with a lot of money do.  No profit is being made.

“I can get the information for you,” Ronon volunteered.

Elizabeth shook her head.  “It is the opinion of our country’s government that both negotiating with terrorists and torturing prisoners to obtain information is illegal.”

John nodded his head and waited for the meeting to be dismissed, knowing Weir had a lot to think about.  He was proud of McKay for waiting until they were two whole hallways away before stating, “You know, not all of Atlantis is made up of citizens from your great and superior country.”

“I’m pretty sure Canada is against torture as well, Rodney,” the Colonel replied with raised eyebrows, continuing his walk towards his office.

Rodney guffawed at the suggestion.  “Well, I didn’t mean me, obviously.  I wouldn’t know the first thing about that... stuff.  But there are others here, some who might even have experience.”

“If you say there are others with ‘questionable morals’, I will be forced to slap you, just so you know,” Sheppard rolled his eyes.  “Most of the countries signed on with this expedition pretty much have the same view on these things.  Not to mention that whole pesky treaty the IOA waves in our face every chance it gets.”  He knew he was not saying anything anyone did not already know, but he also knew it needed to be said just the same.

“But, it’s just...  It’s Teyla...” Rodney tried.

John stopped in the middle of the hallway, turning to look at the scientist.  “I know,” he said with an intensity that made the other man flinch.

Ronon spoke for the first time since the meeting.  “I can get the information for you,” he promised.

Sheppard met his gaze, understanding what was unspoken as much as what was said.  He did not hesitate as he nodded and said, “Do it.”
