Drabble: Missing

Another drabble.  This one (like the last one) is actually related to a separate series I am working on.

Synopsis:  It’s been five days since she went missing.

She smells like warmth and spice and home, or she would if she were still here.  It’s been five days since she went missing, five days since the last person saw her alive, five days of fruitless searching.  Her scent is fading from the pillows, her room growing cold and pale, a sense of emptiness pervading more than just a simple location.

 

When she’s found, she smells like blood and steel and fear.  Surrounded by her life again, yet she is alone amongst her friends.  Her soul is nearly empty.  They can only hope to seek to fill it again.
