SGA: Bonded

I originaly had an idea along these lines for the flashfic challenge of "Stuck on You", but did not like what I had written.  Instead, I pretty much trashed that and this came to me at like 2 in the morning.

Title:  Bonded

Genre:  Team, Triple Drabble (300 words)

Season/Spoilers:  Ronon’s in it.

Rating:  PG

Synopsis:  “We gave you what you were missing.”

Disclaimer:  I don’t own them, people with a lot of money do.  I’m just borrowing them and making no profit for the experience.

Teyla is purple, warm and comforting like his grandmother’s favorite afghan, surrounding them with her steady presence.  Rodney is green, though not the stereotypical envy or wrath.  Instead, he’s like the woods, the darkened pines just daring you to see what they can become.  Ronon is red like the clay of the planet they found him on, steady, solid, fading into nature itself.  He knows he’s blue, like the sky above he loves to sail through.  He can catch glimpses of it at the edge of his vision.

“More like the color of Atlantis when the water’s reflecting off the south side,” McKay mused, catching the directions of his thoughts.

The priest beside them swirled in happy shades of paisley, pleased they understand and accept the gift that has been bestowed upon them.

“We didn’t ask for it,” Ronon growls.  He has been solitary for so long that accepting the essence of the others in his mind has been hardest for him.

“You are team.  You are family.  You are bonded,” the man insisted.  “We gave you what you were missing, what we are and you were not.”

Teyla nods and once again offers their gracious thanks.  She and Sheppard gently probe for answers to their questions, trying to find out as much as possible before they need to return.  Rodney and Ronon are investigating the mixture of machine and herbs that assisted them on this path; the people of this world are nothing but accommodating now that they belong.

Their findings are inconclusive, and they leave not knowing just how far their new joining will take them.  Already, they are picking up on each other’s thoughts and wants.

As they leave, Rodney’s eyes go wide, the green spiking to near blue.  “What do you mean this might be permanent?”

Feedback is always welcomed.

This was really neat! Now I want to read more from this 'verse! *innocent look* My brain is spinning all sorts of weird scenarios about how they'd deal with it.

Thank you! I do have a longer one in progress, but it needs a major re-write, so I don't know if it will ever see the light of day.
