SGA Drabble: Complications
Short little drabble came to mind this morning. Maybe it’s the upcoming season premiere? I’ve got ‘gates on my mind…

“It’s... complicated.”
“A lot of things are.”
“Not like this.”
“I’m a smart guy, try me.”
“There are rules...”
A snort. “Like you ever follow those.”
“Consequences,” he hedged.
“Benefits,” came the counter.
“Conflict of interest, distraction in the field.”
“Enjoyment, passion.”
“Fraternization.”
“Love.”
“Discharge of duty.”
“Several thousand light-years away.”
“Jealousy of preferential treatment.”
Another snort. “Please... Already an issue and already ignored.”
A pause. “Fear.”
“Of commitment?”
“Of you, of us.”
“Nothing to worry about. We watch each other in field, we’ll watch each other now.”
A hesitant smile. “Are we going to do this?”
“We already are.”
