SGA Drabbles: Team

I wrote a series of drabbles today at work.  The first one, focusing on Teyla, was written for [info]johnnym77, even though I know he doesn’t really watch the show.  The unifying theme for the drabbles seems to be both teamwork and vengeance, but they each stand on their own.  Yep, it was that kind of day.

Disclaimer for all:  I don’t own them, people with a lot of money do.  I’m just taking them out to vent in a solely not-for profit way.

Rating for all:  PG-13

Title:  Lessons

Genre:  SGA, Gen, Drabble

Focus:  Teyla Emmagen

An upper right with a speed too quick to block.  A kick across a chin leading to a follow through to an exposed underbelly.  While her opponent reared back and doubled over, she joined her two fists into one, connecting solidly with his spine.  The large man fell in a crumpled heap that she accidentally kicked as she rejoined her waiting team.

Sheppard took in the gasping form withering on the ground.  “Geeze, Teyla, what did he do?”

“He offended me,” she replied simply.

“Remind me never to do that,” Rodney winced.

“I think she just did,” Sheppard whispered back.

Title:  Respect

Genre:  SGA, Gen, Drabble

Focus:  Rodney McKay

It was nothing major, really.  Just a few carefully timed glitches that seemed innocuous alone, but pointed to something far more sinister when added together.  By the time they tied it back to him, the perpetrators would be far too embarrassed to file a report.

“Are you certain you do not need our assistance?” Teyla asked, sharing a look of anticipation with Ronon at her side.

“Trust me, I’ve got this one all on my own,” Rodney said gleefully.

“You know,” Ronon commented, watching a Marine run by with florescent orange hair, “I think I like this side of McKay.”

Title:  Arguments

Genre:  SGA, Gen, Drabble

Focus:  Ronon Dex

“Is he still moving?”

“He’ll live,” came the grunted response.

“That’s not what I asked,” Sheppard pointed out in exasperation.

Beside him, Ronon simply shrugged in response, obviously not caring.  “He got what he deserved.  Would have gotten more if he had been part of my unit on Sateda.”

“We’re not on Sateda,” Sheppard pointed out.

“Not on Earth either,” Ronon countered.

The Colonel had no response to that.  There was no argument over which rules applied in a different galaxy.  The answer was none.  “Are Rodney and Teyla going to be okay?” he asked instead.

“They will be now.”

Title:  Safety

Genre:  SGA, Gen, Drabble

Focus:  John Sheppard

Sheppard eyed his teammates wearily.  The weariness was technically from them, not that he would ever tell them that.  They were scratched, bleeding, and sore, but they were all alive.

“How did you find us?” Rodney asked, clutching the gift of a Powerbar in his pale fingers as if it were the secret to the universe.

“You probably don’t want to know,” Ronon answered for him.

Tearing open the wrapper, Rodney breathed, “But there were so many of them...  How did...?”

Teyla cut him off with a raised and shaking hand.  “There are some things we are best not knowing.”

Title:  Change

Genre:  SGA, Gen, Drabble

Focus:  Team

Atlantis had changed them.  For better or for worse could, and most likely would, be argued either way.

Independence was respected, except when it needed to be ignored.  Instincts were both honed and shared amongst the team.  Each knew what to expect of the others, and knew they would always exceed those expectations.  They would do anything for each other, which both frightened and enthralled them.  Sacrifices were made, but never mentioned.  Everyone gave, and everyone got.  They did what was needed, and then they did more.

This rag-tag group had become more than a team, they had become family.

Feedback is always welcome.

Edit:  Because lj took the special reformatting crack again today.
