This came to me on the way to work this morning.

Synopsis:  Some things never fade.

He made the tea to Sha’re’s precise specifications, measuring out the herbs exactly, letting the aroma warm his mind as the liquid warmed his body.  He sipped it slowly, letting the taste linger and fade, savoring the subtle spices.  With a sigh, he tucked his glasses and book to the side of the bed the way his father insisted he do each night.  Pulling the blankets up to his shoulders, he felt his mother’s gentle fingers smoothing his hair, lulling him to sleep.  And as he turned off the light, he hoped for a tomorrow that was better than today.
