Apologies to whatever sucky 80's group sang that thing.
I left work and the sun was shining. I got a bit more down the road and it was cloudy, but still 80 per the nifty little TCF Bank clock on the side of the road. Then it started to sprinkle. Then, the next TCF clock said it had dropped to 74. Then it started to deluge - you know, the kind of rain where you can't see the tail lights of the car in front of you.
Right now, I estimate it's a bit cooler than that 74, but then again, I am currently soaked to the bone. You see, I got home and rushed from the street to my front door to find it locked, with my child standing on the other side. Apparently, my partner had asked him to make sure it was unlocked. He did not.
So, I go upstairs to dry off. I get to the bathroom to try to brush out my hair, and slide across the floor because the window is wide open and it's raining in. Apparently, my partner asked our child to make sure the window was closed. He did not.
Several towels later, I go the backroom, the office with the computers in it. The carpeting is soaked and the window is wide open. Apparently, my partner asked our child to close the window there as well. He did not.
Several more towels later, and I am sitting down to try to give my now sore knee and ankle a break (they did not appreciate the slide across the linoleum). My eldest child is crying that it's not his fault that it rained and he didn't do what he was asked. My youngest peeked into their room, saw the rain coming in through their open window and soaking a pile of Pokemon cards and shrugged and said, "They're not mine."
Is it wrong to giggle?
Is it wrong to not really trust them to do much unsupervised at this point?
Is it wrong my partner wants to charge our eldest cash fundage for not listening?
