She slips through them effortlessly, changing her features at will. Her demeanor alters from person to person, being exactly what they need her to be, and nothing at all. The mask she wears is clever, more intricate than most. Forever changing, though she remains the same.
A team enters, only four simple people, and she freezes. No matter how much she longs to be with them again, to laugh, to joke, to belong, she knows it can never happen. They knew her best, and they always will. The nanites shift, the mask changes, and
