SGA - Leadership Role

I’m home from work today (got to use up days off or lose them).  My hope was to finish up a couple of stories I’ve been working on.  I wrote a drabble instead.  In my defense, it’s not even noon yet.

Title:  Leadership Role

Genre:  SGA, Gen, Drabble (100 words)

Season/Spoilers:  Takes place after “The Siege”

Rating:  PG

Synopsis:  People rarely mention Teyla’s role in the ordeal.

Disclaimer:  Not mine, they belong to people with far more money than me.  I’m just borrowing them in a solely not-for-profit way.

~~~~~~~~~~
People rarely mention Teyla’s role in the ordeal, of how foolish Earth was to insist upon the main command staff’s return, leaving only a skeleton crew of new arrivals behind to watch over the city and her inhabitants.  They do not mention the well-timed transmission from another galaxy insisting certain people return else the Athosians claim salvage rights to the abandoned settlement.  They do not mention the near unanimous vote by the inhabitants placing faith in her rule until those whom she trusted returned.
Ambassador Elizabeth Weir, Doctor Rodney McKay, and newly minted Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard know the truth.
Feedback is always welcomed.
Exactly! They put her in charge but, aside from being a member of the main team, what is the reasoning behind it? And why do so many people just accept it? There's so many places you could go with this.
