cat_77: Merlin in fog (Merlin)

So I had this idea, and then I thought no, and then I thought yes, and then I thought "Oh crap, it's time for NaNoWriMo and I'm still thinking about this?" So I got it out of my system. It's a crossover between Thoughtcrimes and Merlin that is hopefully not as convoluted as I made it sound when explaining it to two separate people before writing it.

Title: Meet Again for the First Time
Fandoms: Merlin/Thoughtcrimes
Pairings: Hint of Merlin/Arthur, Hint of Freya/Brendan
Length: ~1,200 words of self-indulgence
Rating: PG (really)
Synopsis: He might have been a hero, but she was convinced there was more to him than he was letting on.
Warnings: None, really. Future/Reincarnation Fic for Merlin.
Author’s Notes:
Merlin fans: Thoughtcrimes was an awesome one-shot starring the feral Slayer and John Sheppard involving an empath and the NSA.
Thoughtcrimes fans: Merlin is an awesome show on the BBC that totally plays with the original myths.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters and am making no profit from this.

Whoo hoo! Got it in just under the wire!

Alternative titles for this included "Earth Sucks" and "Rodney and Freya's Snarkfest"...

Title: Thinking of Home
Genre: SGA/Thoughtcrimes
Season/Spoilers: Set roughly Season 5 of SGA
Pairing: McShep
Length: ~ 9,000 words
Rating: R for language and violence
Synopsis: On Earth, Rodney is taken by the Trust, but he is not alone.
Author's Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] sg_prompts' Crossover Fest.
Disclaimer: I don't own them, people with a lot of money do. I'm just borrowing them to play and making no profit from this.

I'm on a Highlander kick and posting Thoughtcrimes fic. Yeah, I don't know either.

Title: Promises
Genre: Thoughtcrimes, Gen
Rating: PG-13 for language
Length: ~ 1000 words
Summary: On an assignment gone wrong, promises are made.
Disclaimer: I don’t own them and I am not making any profit from this.

Yeah, so it was bound to happen eventually... Thoughtcrimes fic.

Title: Cascades
Genre: Thoughtcrimes, Gen
Rating: PG-13 (minor language)
Synopsis: Happy Hour seemed like a good idea at the time. Unfortunately, then she remembered she was a telepath with no tolerance.
Author’s Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] matterothemind challenge #26: beer
Disclaimer: Not mine, the characters belong to people with a lot more money than me. I’m just borrowing them to play and making not profit from this.

Thanks to the awesomeness that is [livejournal.com profile] threnodyjones, I have now seen Thoughtcrimes.

It is a surprisingly well-done movie with decent acting from pretty much all involved. I kept wondering why Freya looked so familiar and it turns out the actress, Navi Rawat, played Dana the insane Slayer on Angel. Brendan is, of course, played by Joe Flanigan of SGA fame and though you can see some of the same manerisms, he is playing a completely different character than John Sheppard (and shows he can actually act from time to time). Peter Horton of thirtysomething fame plays the doctor working to get Freya out of her telepathy-induced funk. Most of the rest of the actors and actresses would fill out a scorecard on Canadian Actor Bingo, but do a decent job as well.

Definitely recommend this movie to anyone and everyone even remotely interested in a "sci-fi" movie with a solid premise and storyline (though, does telepathy count as sci-fi anymore?), or to people wanting to see Joe Flanigan outside of SGA.

I am now debating writing either a Thoughtcrimes fic, or a Thoughtcrimes/SGA fic. Yes, I am a sad, sad person.

Why did no one ever tell me about this? Yes, I'm looking at you, [livejournal.com profile] threnodyjones.

I've seen several people talking about Thoughtcrimes in SGA fandom and so, when looking through You Tube, I found a few vids on it and gave them a try. I then looked it up on imdb.

I want. I want a lot.

I can only find in Region 2 format. Shit.

I will find a way.
