I made the mistake of looking up one possible item for an outfit for Con. There's decent sales right now while places try to clear out their inventory and everything.
I bought a dress. I don't even wear dresses that often, but I bought a dress. It was in my size and had 3/4 sleeves even (a must since most sleeves are too short but you can't tell with the 3/4 ones) and is totally Peggy Carter-esque and since I switched departments I'm going to be required to go to the meet and greet dinner and will need something for that and it's quite nice and was only $32.00 and... I bought a dress.
Now someone talk me out of buying a corset-like top from here? I'm not even sure if she uses boning and there were a few recent complaints about timeliness, which isn't really an issue since Con is in July, but they are hella cute?

Is anyone else out there watching Orphan Black? It's on BBCAmerica right now, but supposedly going to air on BBC3 soon.

So my laptop seems to have bit the big one, or at the very least we haven't found a way to fix it yet. Slight problem that the majority of my fics prior to about a year ago are on there - some in progress and some already completed and posted.
I am horrendously behind on updating AO3 with my stuff, but am debating putting at least the longer ones up there, even if they have already been posted here. Realms is there already, and I think I want to add Important, Sorcerer, But Only Say thr Word and I Shall, and maybe Seventeen Days, just to get the long ones some place easier to read, though there were a few others that were sizably long (8-10K) as well.
Question is two-fold:
1) Anyone have suggestions for any others to move to there? Story Roll Call tag is here.
2) Anyone have an easier way of moving them to there? Because, with the laptop toast, the original file is inaccessible and I'd be posting the chunks from the LJ/DW posts via copy and paste.
Ooh, and since I just thought of it:
3) Anyone have a better idea of how to break things down into chapters? Because I just kinda write it all at once and then try to find a breaking point around the paragraph that maxes out the post.
Thoughts?

Realized I had not posted anything that was not a whine or something completely random for quite some time. Sorry. Wrote this explanation-type thing, but deleted it because, really I don't want to read/write about this crap, so I doubt anyone else does.
Suffice to say, work = stress right now. Thought I had maxed out on that, but am pleased to announce that it is apparently possible to go above and beyond and reach whole new levels if the universe really wants you to.
I have poked at a few stories, but haven't made much real progress as of late. Instead, I am spending my lunches at work escaping by reading fic on my iPad, taking quiet glee in reading stuff that would make most of my bosses and coworkers squirm, right under their noses. Maybe when the stress dies down a little? Like when when the thing that was supposed to happen in March to reduce our workload by half finally happens? Or is that just crazy talk?
Well then, that's that, there's an update. Back to watching one of the most horrifically edited versions of X-Men I have ever seen in my life. Or possibly just mindlessly poking through Tumblr for a while.
Oh, though if anyone has any suggestions for fic I can read in an hour or less that won't make me gouge out my eyes, let me know? Rating is not an issue, though I do prefer plot and characterization over just about anything else, including porn.

So I was chatting with threnodyjones via email at work today as one is wont to do when one does not want to do one's work, and we got to discussing the need for wing!fic and the possibility of a multi-fandom wing!fic meme-like thing.
Would anyone be interested in such a thing? Because, really, what fandom couldn't do with more randomly and possibly mystically bewinged beings? And, if one of your fandoms already has a winged being, why not have said being share the love?
Also, she *really* wants a fic in which some mystical/magical being ends up accidentally giving a non-magical/mystical being wings after screwing them senseless and the newly bewinged being exclaiming, "Wow, this is like the best STD ever!"
Thoughts? Interest? I'm thinking of something where people leave prompts and/or answers to prompts and/or randomness they come up with on their own in one post and a master-post later. Did I mention she may already be working on a graphic should we do this? *wince*
