I know it is not astrologically Samhain yet, but it is Halloween, which many people get confused about. Anyway, I wrote this drabble this past weekend when we went up north. We managed to get some great pics of the full moon over Lake Superior, and I hope to put at least one of them up tonight to share how beautiful it truly was.
On with the drabble...

The sturdy trail of rough-hewn rocks - placed just so - leads from the lodge to the shores below. The water laps gently at the perfect mix of dirt, basalt, and shale, its shimmer highlighting the agates left for the lucky few. There is no sun, only a full moon in a near cloudless sky, a pale yellow contrasting sharply with the blackness of night. Fires are lit, roaring flames contained by the stone fire pits, a stack of wood sitting conveniently to the side.
That is not my destination.
With my Goddess and my Coleman at my side, I trudge on.
